Kerala Piravi, celebrated on November 1st each year, marks the birth of the state of Kerala. The term “Piravi” means birth in Malayalam. Before India’s independence, the Malayalam-speaking regions were divided into Travancore, Cochin, and Malabar. On July 1, 1949, Travancore and Cochin united to form Travancore Cochin.Later, on November 1, 1956, Malabar and Kasaragod taluk of South Canara joined them, creating the state of Kerala under the States Reorganisation Act.

This day is significant as it celebrates Kerala’s unique culture, literature, and traditions. People often wear traditional attire, with women in kasavu sarees and men in mundu, to honor their heritage. Schools and colleges organize events like Malayala Bhasha Vaarams to promote the state’s linguistic and cultural heritage among students.

In Queen Of Angels Public School our KG students celebrated Vegetables Day as the name SABJI BAZAR ……..which means Vegetable Shop…. on 29th OCTOBER. Through this celebration the students come to know about the names of all vegetables, and they learn how to sell and buy vegetables from the Market.
